2. To initiate a Cause it is necessary that at least five years pass after the death of the candidate. This is to allow for greater balance and objectivity in the evaluation of the case and to allow the emotions of the moment to decant. There must be a clear conviction among people about his/her sanctity (fama sanctitas) and about the efficacy of his/her intercession with the Lord (fama signorum).

Maria of the Conception was born on April 25, 1905 in Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands, Spain). She had everything you could want: wealth, comfort, influence in society... passionate about reading, cinema and sports. At the age of 22 she fell radically in love with Jesus. She entered Carmel the following year. For Him she left everything. Right from the first moment, she imbued herself with holiness by observing the Rule and the Constitutions, with a constant and increasing effort «without mitigation, until death».

She consecrated herself to the Heart of Jesus and in him made her dwelling place. There she found unalterable peace and joy of heart, changing her will and comfort to collaborate in the redemptive work of her Beloved.

A mirror of humility and total forgetfulness of self; a good mother to all, always willing to help others in any need, she hid in the night of common life up to making her generous donation connatural and sweet. Her tranquillity was easily noticed, it radiated peace around her. 

After living 70 «immensely happy» years in Carmel, she gave her soul to God at the age of 93, on February 7, 1999. Her death was accompanied by signs and graces.

The Diocesan Inquiry into her «Life, Virtue and Reputation for Holiness» was opened on December 21, 2009 in the Diocese of Mallorca.

Maria Christina was born and baptized in Seville (Spain) in July 1890. Her parents were called José and Elisa. The date of her first communion is unknown.

On 24 January 1921, Cristina entered the convent of the Discalced Carmelite nuns in Ojíjares (Granada), received the habit on  August 15 and made her solemn profession on the 21^st of August, 1925.

On April 30, 1946, Cristina set out from the convent of Ojíjares with five other companions, to found the convent in San Fernando (Cadiz), inaugurated on October 15 of the same year, under the title of the Holy Trinity. Of advanced age but full of merits, she died in San Fernando on March 24, 1980.

The Diocesan Inquiry into her «Life, Virtue and Reputation for Holiness» was opened on 24^th of July 2005 and closed on 30^th of November 2008 in the Diocese of Cadiz and Ceuta.
